Yes please! You’re not buying a box of chocolates, but a jewel that should fit you like a second skin. That deserves some time and attention. And you absolutely deserve both. That is why we always work by appointment, unless you order a jewel in the webshop.
Your jewel will be ready for pickup 4 to 8 weeks after approval of the quote. So play it safe and schedule your appointment at least two months before your deadline. Also keep in mind possible delays during July and August. For orders placed in the webshop, a production time of 4 to 8 weeks also applies unless otherwise stated.
Do you have a ring at home that fits the right finger? Then measure the inner diameter of this ring. You can do this with a caliper (ideal) or a ruler (slightly less accurate). Click here to get detailed instructions. We can also measure your ring size during your appointment. If the ring is a surprise for a lucky someone, try to secretly bring another ring with you that fits her/him. Please note: always measure based on the hand on which the ring will be worn. Wedding and engagement rings are traditionally intended for the ring finger of the left hand, and that size can differ from the right hand. In the summer, your fingers are also somewhat wider than in the winter. Are you in doubt? Then go for a slightly larger size.
Definitely! Feel free to bring this to your appointment. We will then weigh and test your gold to see what’s possible. We can also use your gemstones, but be aware that in exceptional cases something might go wrong during setting (e.g. the stone could break). This is always done at your own risk.
They say an (engagement) ring should cost two months’ salary. But that's a myth – the gesture and the sentiment are much more important than the price tag of your ring. Jewelry purchased from Jolien Mees receives a complimentary first cleaning within the first year. After that, we recommend bringing in your pieces annually for a small maintenance check. That way, they’ll shine like new again! Want to clean your jewelry yourself in the meantime? Make a solution of warm water and a bit of dish soap. Use an old, soft (!) toothbrush to gently clean the hard-to-reach places. You can also use an ultrasonic cleaner. Tip: your jewelry will keep its shine longer if you avoid wearing it during sports, heavy physical activity or when working with chemicals (e.g. cleaning products). Ideally, put it on as the final step in your routine – after skincare, makeup and perfume.
No worries: you can have the ring size adjusted once for free, up to 6 months after purchase. Most rings can be resized up to three sizes larger or smaller.
Only creations by Jolien Mees can be brought in for repair. Based on the damage, we will determine whether or not this repair falls under warranty.
Each piece is carefully packaged in a luxurious jewelry box, complete with a certificate. Ready to be gifted – or unwrapped by yourself.
We work with a limited stock. That’s why each piece is handmade once your order is placed. Please allow approximately 4 to 8 weeks for delivery. You’ll receive an email when your order is ready to be shipped or picked up at the showroom. As each piece is custom-made, we unfortunately cannot accept returns.
